Educational Success

GCF's strategies work to improve outcomes for Greater Cincinnati residents across the education continuum. Our objectives for Educational Success are:

  • Provide quality early learning opportunities to ensure a strong foundation for success in school and life
  • Ensure children are supported to succeed in school and out of school
  • Help individuals prepare for and complete post-high school education and training to secure gainful employment

By working closely with organizations focused on making certain that children meet educational benchmarks, we’ve discovered the following trends and needs.

Please note that what’s listed below is not an exhaustive list of our grants but some highlights of the needs our grants have addressed.

Elementary Reading Proficiency
The Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati improves lives throughout the region by championing literacy.
Increasing Graduation Rates
Cincinnati Arts and Technology Center’s (CATC) mission is to provide urban teens the motivation to stay in school and advance to higher learning. It collaborates with Cincinnati Public Schools and focuses on eleventh and twelfth graders who are at-risk of not graduating.
Kindergarten Readiness
Success by 6® works to improve kindergarten readiness by expanding high quality early childhood education.
Supporting Students
The Notre Dame Urban Education Center (NDEC), run by the Sisters of Notre Dame, focuses on serving children in the Covington Independent School District and Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Covington.
