In 1998, GCF teamed up with local leaders through the Forward Quest initiative (
now Vision 2015) to establish The Northern Kentucky Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. This permanent endowment brought together diverse donors with a common goal of enhancing the quality of life in this community.
Through the contributions of local residents, the leadership of the Fund’s Advisory Board and GCF’s unrestricted funds, grants totaling more than $21,000,000 have been awarded to organizations and programs serving Northern Kentucky.

The Devou Cup was created in 2004 to honor the generosity of a donor who has made a profound difference in the quality of community life in Northern Kentucky, today and tomorrow. The award was named in honor of the generosity exemplified by William Devou, a 19th century philanthropist.
