Managing Personal and Family Charitable Interests
A Family Tradition of Giving
Many individuals establish charitable funds with GCF on behalf of their families. In addition to reinforcing a family tradition of giving back to the community, establishing a fund with loved ones creates a sense of pride and purpose. Sharing the decision process for distributing the funds actively demonstrates collective family values.
Meeting Your Needs and Interests
Personal and family charitable giving strategies are GCF’s core competency. Working with you, or with your professional financial advisor, we create plans that meet your interests and needs.
On a daily basis, we consult with individuals who want to support their communities in an effective and fiscally sensible way. GCF performs two primary services for donors:
- Identifying the best vehicle for your gift, such as a donor advised fund, a charitable gift annuity, or an outright gift. We will review the nature of your gift – such as cash, stock or legacy contribution – and help you determine the most strategic way to maximize its impact. We can also take care of the paperwork and administration required for set up.
- Connecting your gift to the appropriate outlet, such as a specific organization, field of interest, or community area of need. We will help you find the most efficient, effective way to support the organizations or issues you care about most. GCF works with dozens of local nonprofit organizations every year and our knowledge and familiarity can be a valuable resource as you go through the gift process.
The Greater Cincinnati Foundation wants to be your family’s trusted charitable partner and has developed experience in working with families. We believe family philanthropy can be more than inviting children and grandchildren to share in your charitable interests.
