Addicted to Love

Lockland High SchoolStanding in the spotlight on her high school’s stage, a teenager talks about being at a party and having a “roofie” (known as the date rape drug) put in her drink. She wakes up on a lawn realizing she has been raped.

The spotlight moves to another student.

“The day we met is the day I want to forget,” she reads. “I never thought you would hurt me.”

These fictional but realistic scenarios are part of the performance created by the R.A.F.T troupe at Lockland High School.

Members of R.A.F.T. (Reducing Abuse Through Forum Theatre) ages 14-16, learn about teen dating violence and conflict resolution under the tutelage of Amy Faust, youth education coordinator of Jewish Family Services. Two culminating performances at Lockland have the students portray teen dating violence and peer abuse scenarios.
