Introducing the Giving Connection:
an online catalog of giving opportunities in Greater Cincinnati

Many grant requests come our way each year. But the needs of the community are greater than The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) can meet with our discretionary funds. We have developed the Giving Connection to present those opportunities to you. You can review a brief description of the need, visit the organization’s Web site for more information if you like, and make a donation.

GCF donors can log in to Advisor Xpress to make a grant online from a donor advised fund. Others wishing to make a donation can click on the link to the nonprofit’s Web site in the organization’s profile and follow the organization’s directions for making a donation.

Because the emergency needs are so great in our community right now, we have launched the Giving Connection by featuring the 20 nonprofit organizations that received the first grants from the Weathering the Economic Storm Fund.

Featured Project: Weathering the Economic Storm
The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) is taking the lead to develop a strategic community-wide response to the economic crisis. The Foundation has committed a minimum of $1 million in grant funds, gathered other funders to commit another $1 million.

Funds will be used to address two distinct facets of the economic crisis: security and stability for families, and support and stability for nonprofits.

The Giving Connection helps connect you to nonprofits working to make a difference in our community. It features special needs that are outside the scope of the Foundation’s competitive grantmaking programs. The list of agencies is rotated on a regular basis. Information about each nonprofit and the project for which funding is requested was obtained from the organizations on a voluntary basis.
