Connect Northern Kentucky seniors with options to engage in healthy activities and relationships

Northern Kentucky Community Action CommissionSenior citizens are among the region's most under-resourced and isolated individuals. Many lack the social supports to stay active and healthy as they age.

Center activities enable participants to increase their physical activity levels, access healthy meals, and remain mentally alert which helps them to continue living independently.

Active seniors make fewer trips to the doctor, delay the onset of age-related illnesses, have fewer hospitalizations, and take fewer medicines, according to the National Institute of Health.

Funding is requested to support operating costs for two Kenton County Senior Centers, located in Ludlow and Elsmere. These two centers, operated in collaboration with the Northern Kentucky Area Development District & local governments, serve 210 NKY senior citizens monthly.

Funds will be used for a portion of the Centers’ operating costs and for facilitation of exercise programs. Your support will allow our older neighbors to remain active, independent, mentally engaged, and involved in their communities well into their 70's, 80's and even 90's.

How can you help?

Improve the health, social, and emotional well-being of the region's older residents (60+) by accessing the services provided by the two centers. Sponsor a one hour fitness class designed to help up to 20 seniors with activities of daily living with a $100 donation. That’s as little as $5 per senior per class.
