P&G’s UK Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund
Asda and P&G have joined forces to help save one life every hour by 2020.
It is estimated that for more than one billion people safe drinking water is a problem, something we in the UK take for granted. More than 1,600 children die every day from illnesses caused by drinking unsafe water.
For every stickered pack you buy in Asda with the ‘1 pack = 1 days clean water’ logo, P&G will donate one days worth of clean drinking water to people living in developing countries.
P&G, in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has developed a low-cost technology that can purify even heavily contaminated drinking water so that it meets World Health Organization standards for safe drinking water. Funding will be provided to qualified charities in order to help provide safe drinking water in the developing world.
P&G is committed to saving one life every hour in the developing world by delivering more than 2 billion liters of clean drinking water each year by 2020.
