Craig Carlson Honored With Emerging Philanthropist Award

Craig Carlson received the 2016 Emerging Philanthropist Award at the LEGACY Next Generation Leader Awards on July 14. 

Craig and EllenCINCINNATI (July 15, 2016) - Craig Carlson received the 2016 Emerging Philanthropist Award at the LEGACY Next Generation Leader Awards on July 14. The award was presented by The Northern Kentucky Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. 

The Emerging Philanthropist Award honors a young philanthropic leader who gives generously of time, experience, and resources for the benefit of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and inspires others to do the same.

Carlson received the honor for his leadership in creating the Young Patron’s Guild (YPG) for the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. Since 2013, Carlson has engaged 35 young leaders with the YPG who have raised awareness and tens of thousands of dollars for the hospital’s critical services. Before moving to Northern Kentucky from Nashville, he had founded a similar philanthropic group for the pediatric hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Carlson is a commercial banker for U.S. Bank and in December will become its Regional President for the Northern Kentucky Market. He is the Chairman of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation’s Business Support Committee and serves on the boards of the Northern Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (Tri-Ed), the Alliance for Catholic Urban Education, and The Carnegie. He was a member of the Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2015.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Carlson earned a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from the University of Kentucky. He lives in Lakeside Park with his wife and two children.
