GCF Invests More Than $750,000 in Safety Net Grants

Providing a safety net to our region’s most vulnerable residents is key to them being able to bounce back from adversity. Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF), through partnerships with our generous donors, recognizes this to be a foundational element in promoting economic equity in ways that result in positive impacts for all of us.

To address that constant need, GCF has awarded $752,600 in 2019 Safety Net grants to 20 nonprofit organizations in our community. From Central Clinic Behavioral Health’s Child and Family Treatment Center and Dearborn County Clearinghouse for Emergency Aid’s Right-2-U Resources Mobile Pantry to the Erlanger Elsmere School District’s Lloyd Memorial High School Safety Net, these grants are supporting increased access to food, shelter and behavioral health services throughout the tri-state. In response to the recent shift in the level of support available to the community in this critical sector, grants were increased from $35,000 to $50,000 this year.
