Nikki Giovanni will bring all of that and much, much more to share at the Women’s Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s “A Conversation With … Nikki Giovanni” on Wednesday, April 29, at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

From her earliest poems responding to the assassinations of such figures as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Robert Kennedy and Malcolm X to vivid insights of the daily struggles of black people, Giovanni has an intense appreciation for African-American culture and heritage. “I come from a long line of storytellers,” she explains, and her narratives provide rich and universal themes of family, love, politics and home.

In short, it’s an unforgettable evening you will not want to miss.

Tickets to the annual Women’s Fund signature fundraising event — which typically sell out — are available now. The $50 general admission tickets include a pre-party networking celebration with light bites and an open bar, as well as the dynamic program featuring Giovanni’s keynote address and one-on-one conversation with an interviewer.

For an elevated experience, consider the additional support of Host/Hostess tickets. They’re $250 and include your name in the program, reserved seating options and a personal invitation to the post-program VIP reception/meet and greet with Giovanni. Additionally, host/hostess ticket purchasers are invited to attend the Women’s Fund Appreciation Reception March 20 at the Mercantile Library.

Reserve your general admission or host/hostess tickets today.

A limited number of corporate sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact Kate Tepe at Kate.Tepe@gcfdn.org. All proceeds from “A Conversation With … Nikki Giovanni” will benefit the Women’s Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation, which leads our community in ensuring the economic self-sufficiency of women in our region.
