Jim HuizengaCINCINNATI – Jim Huizenga, senior program officer of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, was recently honored by Cincinnati Boychoir and the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council

At its 50th Anniversary Gala in May, Jim received the 2015 Community Recognition Award. “We are recognizing a member of the community whose service – not just to the Boychoir but to the community at large – has resulted in nothing short of complete institutional change at the Boychoir,” said Boychoir’s Artistic Director Christopher Eanes. “Jim is known around the city for his love of the choral art, and in addition to being a familiar face at many concerts each year, he is also an active member of both the Cincinnati Boychoir Men’s Glee Club and the Mount Washington Presbyterian Church Choir. One of his great pleasures is getting the opportunity to sing with his son, Jordan, who is also a Boychoir alumnus.”

Jim is also being honored by Saint Joseph Home at the Greater Cincinnati Planned Giving Council’s Voices of Giving Awards Ceremony in June. The event recognizes philanthropists who have made a bequest or other planned gift. It specifically celebrates the generous spirit of these philanthropic individuals whose gestures help to ensure the long-term welfare of the many local nonprofits which make our community so special.
