A Tour of Real Change: Walnut Hills

Walnut Hills is a neighborhood of opportunity and diversity. It’s the crossroads of Cincinnati with a history steeped in music, architecture and politics.

CINCINNATI (Nov. 17, 2015) — Walnut Hills is a neighborhood of opportunity and diversity. It’s the crossroads of Cincinnati with a history steeped in music, architecture and politics.

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation invited our donors earlier this month to witness the amazing renewal in Walnut Hills.

GCF and its donors invest in Strong Communities

Donors heard from Kristen Baker of the LISC Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky and Kevin Wright of the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation. They talked about large scale redevelopment, engaging youth in the community, including residents in redevelopment, expanding healthy opportunities like community gardens and broadening engagement and partnerships.

A bus tour highlighted local businesses and service agencies including:
  • The Growler House
  • Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati
  • ProKids
  • Lighthouse Youth Services
  • Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation
  • Trevarren Flats
  • Cincinnati Early Learning Center
  • Strategies to End Homelessness
  • Talbert House
  • Easter Seals TriState.

With the help of generous people like you, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has been at the forefront of supporting community development in Walnut Hills for many years. We invite you to join us and discover how you can make a difference!

Thanks to Kathryn Gardette, resident and civic leader, and Tim Arnold of Lawn Life for speaking.
