Greater Cincinnati Foundation invests $25,000 in UC’s The Cincinnati Project to support activities that benefit women of color

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) has provided $25,000 in funding to support The Cincinnati Project, a community-engaged research initiative at the University of Cincinnati (UC). The funding will go to support projects that offer clear and direct benefit to women of color in Cincinnati.

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation will be hosting a sold out Community Conversation and film viewing of the Academy Award nominated film, I Am Not Your Negro, which is based on the unfinished novel of the late James Baldwin, and hosting a community conversation with Baldwin’s niece on Friday, Jan. 19. The conversation will continue with three sessions of “Being Curious Together About Race” this spring.

The organizations are leveraging resources to provide $150,000 in grants to nonprofits that support family literacy in impoverished neighborhoods in Greater Cincinnati.
