The Greenlight Fund and The Greater Cincinnati Foundation Make $2.4 Million Investment to Bring Family Independence Initiative to Cincinnati

The Greenlight Fund, in partnership with The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, announced today a multi-million-dollar initiative to fight family poverty in our region. Together, they are investing $2.4 million to bring the Family Independence Initiative—and its innovative model of trusting and investing in family solutions—to Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Update on GCF's Community Grants Process

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has been evaluating how our grantmaking strategy can be more innovative, focused, and effective. We are also considering strategic areas of focus for large scale community initiatives. These considerations result from an evaluation of our current processes that identifies opportunities for us to improve the way we support the community. As a result, we are not currently accepting applications for the Fall 2017 grant cycle.

Three Local Organizations Offer $100,000 Literacy Grant

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Scripps Howard Foundation and WCPO 9 on Your Side are joining forces to break the cycle of poverty through literacy. The organizations are leveraging resources to provide a $100,000 grant to a single nonprofit that supports family literacy in impoverished neighborhoods in Greater Cincinnati. Funds will be awarded to a single nonprofit that fosters and promotes the development and expansion of new and/or existing literacy programs supporting children and their families living in poverty from birth through early elementary school age.
