Community volunteers, multiple organizations stepping up to change systems in our region
The All-In Cincinnati Equity Coalition is bringing community volunteers, various organizations, and Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) together to eliminate racial gaps affecting Black women across the region.
For several years, the All-In Cincinnati’s Volunteer Core Team and Equity Coalition have provided GCF with a roadmap of resources to address affordable housing, education, economic mobility, health disparities and racial justice issues. All-In Cincinnati is funded by GCF, Interact for Health, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation.
All-In Cincinnati is educating the community on the power of togetherness, helping change public policy and is a consistent learning space for GCF staff and the Governing Board.
In response to the pandemic, All-In Cincinnati identified Black-led organizations for GCF’s COVID-19 Regional Response Fund and vetted policy requests. Collaboration and community voice are critical to both All-In Cincinnati and GCF’s racial equity vision.
We do not have all the answers; however, we are strategically aligning to make a larger impact in Black communities through consistency and support.
Sparked by volunteer efforts in the community, All-In Cincinnati has several recent significant accomplishments, including:
- City of Cincinnati passed a policy to encourage City administration to participate in the Racial Equity Matters, presented by bi3 series. The trainings are designed to create a culture of racial equity consciousness.
- 1,500 people attended Cincinnati’s Day of Racial Healing; an all-day virtual event in January 2021, designed to provide foundational knowledge for developing and implementing community-based programs focused on advancing social justice issues, racial equity and healing.
- Partnering with the Health Collaborative to address COVID-19 community testing, education and awareness, and data sharing.
- Partnering with Cincinnati Public Schools to address the digital divide as well as to assist in developing an Anti-Racism policy for the district.
