The Andrew Jergens Foundation

The Andrew Jergens Foundation was established in 1962 in Cincinnati by Andrew N. Jergens (1881-1967).

In 2016, The Andrew Jergens Foundation reached a generous milestone — $20 million granted to the community.

Purpose of The Andrew Jergens Foundation

The Foundation’s prime interest is the health, education, cultural experiences and social welfare of children in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Policies & Restrictions

The Foundation supports programs which benefit children, generally through high school age, in the Greater Cincinnati area (Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren counties in Ohio; Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana). Over the past several years, the Foundation has had a primary interest in children ages 0-6 years; though applications are still accepted for ages through high school.

  • Applicants must have an IRS determination as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
  • In most cases, an organization must wait 24 months after final payment of a grant or decline of a request before it is eligible to reapply.
  • The Foundation will not provide continuing operational support for any grantee.
  • The Foundation does not normally assume a major portion of any amount being solicited.
  • Emergency requests are not favored unless they involve disaster and human suffering.
