10-year strategic plan
A bold vision
In 2024, GCF engaged more than 500 community members, including 160 nonprofit leaders, to craft a 10-year strategic plan designed to deliver equitable outcomes for our region.
Over the next decade, GCF will activate the generosity of our donors and attract new corporate and national philanthropic resources to invest $1 billion for the benefit of our community.
GCF will also make a historic $150 million investment to deliver impact in three critical areas: education, housing and community and cultural vibrancy.
Every child deserves the chance to succeed and meaningful change in student outcomes requires evidence-based solutions. Our approach targets two pivotal moments in a student’s journey: early literacy and future pathways.

Safe, affordable and stable housing is key to a thriving community. GCF will continue to tackle the urgent need to develop and preserve homes that people can afford. Nurses, teachers, firefighters and working families deserve an opportunity to live where they work – free from rising costs and displacement.

A dynamic region features healthy people and vibrant places where people want to stay, grow, and invest in their futures. From safe public places and accessible parks to behavioral health and wellness initiatives and a thriving arts and culture scene, GCF is investing in the foundations of community well-being.

Assets-based
Our approach to grantmaking
All grant applicants should reflect an assets-based mindset in their work. Programs and proposals should recognize and build on the strengths of individuals and communities, incorporating the voices of those with lived experience to shape solutions. We look for initiatives that honor and elevate this expertise as a core part of their approach.
