2022 Devou Cup Recipients – Bob and Dell Ann Sathe
The Devou Cup, created by the Northern Kentucky Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, honors the generosity of individuals who make a profound difference in the quality of community life in Northern Kentucky. GCF is delighted to present the 2022 Devou Cup to Bob and Dell Ann Sathe for their countless community contributions.
A longtime financial leader in our region, Bob is Chairman of MCF Advisors in Covington, a company he founded after a 30-year career with CIGNA Financial Advisors. He has contributed extensively to the Greater Cincinnati region, demonstrated by the long list of fundraising efforts he has chaired and nonprofit boards on which he has served. These include the Thomas More College and Foundation, Playhouse in the Park, Carnegie Arts Center, Cincinnati Ballet, Cancer Family Care, the Boy Scouts, Bethesda Hospitals, and the Metropolitan Club. His decades of service in our community have been recognized by many of these organizations. Among the awards he has received: the Dorothy Wood Community Service Award from Redwood, the Barbara Roe Lang Special Service Award from Cancer Family Care, the Bishop Hughes Award for Bob’s contributions to Catholic higher education in Kentucky, and an Honorary Doctorate from Thomas More. Bob was most recently honored at the Life Learning Center Seasons of Change Gala.
Bob also received the President’s Award from Luther College in Iowa, his alma mater. It was at Luther where he met Dell Ann, a student from Eau Clare, Wisconsin who was majoring in elementary education. After moving together to Cincinnati in 1978, Dell Ann turned her attention from a career in education to raising their family. But she also stayed active in the community and served as president of the Anderson Township chapter of Kindervelt. Together with Bob, Dell Ann has participated in and supported many local organizations, including St. Elizabeth, Lutheran Church of The Resurrection, Inter Parish Ministry, Life Learning Center, the Holland Foundation for the Restoration of Sight. Bob and Dell Ann are proud parents of four children – Andrew, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Matthew – and have eight grandchildren.
