St. Vincent de Paul NKY gives rental help to over 450 families

Funded by Greater Cincinnati Foundation & United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s COVID-19 Regional Response Fund.

Preventing homelessness is the primary goal of St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky’s Rental Assistance Program. The funding provided by Greater Cincinnati Foundation and United Way of Greater Cincinnati COVID-19 Regional Response Fund allowed us to provide rental assistance to over 450 families in need.

Funding for the program typically comes from thrift store revenues and church donations. With the closing of the stores and suspension of church services, the $50,000 award allowed them to continue the vital work of keeping people housed.

“The relief we are able to provide to families struggling to pay their bills is immeasurable,” said St. Vincent de Paul NKY Executive Director Karen Zengel. “Families who have lost their stability in the wake of COVID-19 need to know that their neighbors are here for them. The Rapid Response Fund was here for us, to make sure we could respond to requests quickly and without question. We are so very grateful for that opportunity to serve.”
