Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s (GCF) Governing Board provides a diverse community perspective critical to guiding our mission of making our region more equitable for everyone. We appreciate the insights, experience and dedication of all of our board members. Meet GCF’s 2020 Governing Board Chair and new members:
Delores Hargrove-Young, GCF’s newest – and first African-American female – Governing Board Chair, is a distinguished community leader with deep ties throughout our region. In recognition of her regional influence, she was recently named to RESTART, the task force launched by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, the Cincinnati Business Committee and the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee to guide the business community’s work in response to COVID-19.
Hargrove-Young serves as Vice Chair of the Board of the d.e. Foxx group of companies, including XLC Services, Versatex and FX Facility Group (Foxx Construction). She has served on the boards of a wide range of Greater Cincinnati organizations, including the American Red Cross, ArtsWave, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Urban League of Greater Southwest Ohio and the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Her honors include: The Metropolitan Club’s 2019 Metropolitan Award; Girl Scouts of Western Ohio 2015 Women of Distinction Award; Medical Mutual Pillar Award 2015 Nonprofit Board Executive of the Year (American Red Cross Cincinnati Area Chapter); and YWCA of Greater Cincinnati 2003 Career Woman of Achievement.
Ernest F. McAdams, Jr. Esq., a graduate of the Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law, served as a public defender and prosecutor for the City of Cincinnati, heading the Office of Municipal Investigations (now The Citizens Complaint Authority). He became the City Prosecutor in 2001 and retired as the Deputy Solicitor in 2011. He has served as President of the Black Lawyers Association, Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association’s (CBA) Young Lawyers Section an, member of the Ohio Supreme Court’s Racial Fairness Implementation Task Force and is currently a member of the CBA’s Grievance Committee and the Senior Lawyers Section Steering Committee.
Additionally, he has served on the City of Cincinnati Health Department Board and the Cincinnati Zoo Board.
Barbara A. Turner, CRCP, is President and Chief Operating Officer of Ohio National Financial Services (ONFS), the 11th president and first woman and person of color to hold this position. Previously, she served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the O.N. Equity Sales Company, ONFS’s retail broker dealer; and O.N. Investment Management Company, ONFS’s retail investment advisory firm. Turner, who has 39 years of experience in the financial services industry, joined ONFS in 1997. An industry and community leader, she currently serves on the boards of Advocates for Youth Education; Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park; Cincinnati State Technical & Community College; Cincinnati Women’s Executive Forum; LL Global, Inc.; United Way of Greater Cincinnati; and Women’s Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Additionally, Turner is a member of the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee and Executive Leadership Council.
A Cincinnati native, her honors include 2019 Cincinnati Business Courier Women Who Mean Business Award, 2019 Make a Wish Foundation Women Inspiring Strength & Hope (W.I.S.H.), 2019 Linkage Women in Leadership Executive Impact Award, 2019 Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber Making Black History Award, 2009 Top 50 Women in Wealth Management (Wealth Manager Magazine) and 2006 YWCA of Greater Cincinnati Career Woman of Achievement.
CINCINNATI (February 26, 2018) —The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) is pleased to announce Christopher Fister, partner at Castellini Management Company, has been elected as the new chair of its governing board, and Steve Jemison and Sallie Westheimer have joined the governing board.
“Chris will be an excellent chair for us,” said Ellen M. Katz, president/CEO. “Given his previous experience on the board of GCF and tenure on numerous boards throughout the Cincinnati area, he brings strong leadership and a deep understanding of what it takes to drive this foundation forward in serving our community.”
As a partner at Castellini Management Company, Fister is active in the management of a diverse group of operating companies including perishable distribution, trucking, luxury hospitality, and professional sports. He is a certified public accountant, holding an master’s in taxation from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s from the University of Kentucky.
Fister’s board service includes serving on the board and the Executive Committee of Fifth Third Bank Cincinnati and St. Elizabeth Hospital. His past board service includes the Cincinnati USA Chamber Partnership and CincyTech. Past services to the community also include serving with Cincinnati Art Museum, Saint Xavier High School, Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University, Cincinnati Equity Fund, Cincinnati Zoo, and numerous others. He is an advisor to venture capital and is a member of the Advisory Board of CID Equity Partners, HillStreet Funds, Spire Capital, Blue Chip Capital Funds, and Allos Capital.
“I am very excited to have Sallie and Steve join our board,” Katz said. “They bring a vast wealth of experience in philanthropy and the community that will be valuable to our community foundation.”
Jemison is the former chief legal officer for Procter and Gamble. He serves as the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law national council chair, board chair of the Law and Leadership Institute, and as philanthropy committee chair for the Cincinnati Parks Foundation Board.
Westheimer is the retired president/CEO of 4C for Children, an organization she helped to found in 1972. She serves on the board of the Cincinnati Preschool Promise, Greenlight Fund Cincinnati, Leadership Cincinnati Alumni Association and The American Jewish Committee.

Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s (GCF) Governing Board includes two new faces this year: Dr. Robyn Fortner Chatman and Timothy J. Maloney. The 18-member volunteer board is chaired by Christopher L. Fister.
Dr. Chatman, a native of Gulfport, Mississippi, is a past president of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati and immediate past president of the Ohio State Medical Association. A graduate of the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo Medical Center), she also earned a Master of Public Health degree from The Ohio State University and completed two years of training in health informatics at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Chatman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified in Clinical Informatics. A Staff Physician at TriHealth, Dr. Chatman lives in Silverton with her husband, William McKeithen Jr.
"I have not forgotten the obstacles that had to be overcome in order to reach this point in my life and career,” said Dr. Chatman of the perspective she brings to the GCF board. “I am familiar with the struggle. I am happy to have the opportunity to work with others to level the playing field for those who follow.”
Cincinnati native Tim Maloney is President and CEO of the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation, a position he has held since 2007. Prior to his work for the foundation, he served as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for US Bank Private Wealth Management. He was a close friend of Carol and Ralph.
Maloney is presently on the board and executive committee of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) and the Taft Museum of Art. He is Chairman of the Music Hall Revitalization Corporation. He is married to Leslie Pugh Maloney, who serves as Senior Vice President and Education Program Manager of the Haile Foundation. They have two sons.
The Haile Foundation is known for its innovation in the arts, having produced the overwhelmingly successful Lumenocity program with the CSO for three years. The foundation produced the four-night BLINK event in 2017, which ranked as the largest event in the history of Cincinnati. It will return in 2019. The foundation has also been recognized for its innovative approach in community development and for the creation of Peoples Liberty, which provides grants to individuals for a wide range of civic projects.

As Managing Partner, Vincent has driven Dinsmore's significant expansion in recent years and continues to lead the firm's strategic efforts. He also serves as Chairman of the firm's Board of Directors and Finance Committee as well as numerous area business and community organizations. Vincent holds a J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor’s from University of Michigan.
His board service has included Andy & Jordan Dalton Foundation, Artswave, The Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Bar Association, Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Commercial Club, Dan Beard Council, Elizabeth Gamble Deaconess Home Association, Hamilton County Board of Elections, Hamilton County Republican Party, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Queen City Club, and University of Michigan Political Science Department Board of Advisors.

CINCINNATI (January 19, 2015) — The Greater Cincinnati Foundation is pleased to welcome its new Governing Board member Maribeth Rahe. She is president and chief executive officer of Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Western & Southern Financial Group, based in Cincinnati.
Rahe is a graduate of Bowling Green State University. She was a Ph.D. candidate at The Ohio State University and earned her Master's of Business Administration in International Management with honors from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.
She serves on several regional and national boards of directors, including Cincinnati Arts Association, vice chair; Cintrifuse; Consolidated Communications Holdings, Inc.; United Way of Greater Cincinnati Investment Committee; Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Development Advisory Board; Xavier University Williams College of Business Board of Executive Advisors; Cincy Tech Advisory Board; Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber; First Financial Bancorp and First Financial Bank, N.A.; Cincinnati Women’s Executive Forum, secretary; and Cincinnati Country Club. She also serves as a life trustee to Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center and The New York Landmarks Conservancy.
A well-known and acknowledged expert in financial services, Rahe was featured in Vanity Fair magazine as one of “America’s Most Influential Women-200 Legends, Leaders and Trailblazers.”

In 2017, Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) adopted a new grantmaking schedule that aligns with our strategic We Rise Together focus on racial and gender equity. Our Request for Proposal (RFP) process targets diverse community needs on a quarterly basis throughout each year. We look forward to connecting donors with the purpose that drives their passions while supporting Greater Cincinnati nonprofit organizations that are moving the needle forward, creating a more vibrant community for all of us.
For 2020, GCF is expanding the window for applying for targeted grants, beginning with the Safety Net RFP. The submission deadline will be in January, but it will be launched in early December.
